What happens if I submit a film that does not meet the submission guidelines?
It is the filmmaker's responsibility to read and understand the submission guidelines before making their submission. Cineplex is committed to improving access for guests with disabilities. A limited number of accessible seats are available in each theatre, and guide animals are permitted throughout the theatre. For more details on Cineplex's accessibility policy click here.
Is the festival accessible to the deaf and hard of hearing?
Starting in 2019, FOFS has implemented measures to ensure that our event is accessible to an even wider audience. ASL interpreters will be present at our event all day signing for the Industry Panel, opening remarks of the Screenings, and After Party remarks, including our awards ceremony. All film and video content played onscreen will have open captions in English, so that no additional caption machines are necessary. If you have a concern about our accessibility or would like to suggest other accommodations, please email info@fofs.ca.
Are minors permitted to the official FOFS After Party?
No people under the age of 18 will be permitted to the FOFS After Party, as alcohol will be served. Special consideration will be given to filmmakers whose work is appearing at the festival, although they will not be allowed to consume alcohol of any kind at the event.
