  • Just wrapped as a series regular in the newly announced Kevin Williamson Netflix series “The Waterfront” This year Gonzalez starred in the Paramount+ film StarTrek: Section 31 alongside Michelle Yeoh. Her Sony Picture’s movie TAROT had a successful worldwide theatrical release being one of the highest grossing horror films of 2024. With an exciting body of work in motion capture, catch her as the title character of “Kay Vess” in the video game Star Wars: Outlaws from LucasFilm and Ubisoft which landed her an award for best performance at the Canadian Game Awards.

    Other recent roles include  the Universal feature NOBODY opposite Bob Odenkirk and Connie Nielson, the Netflix feature SLUMBERLAND opposite Jason Momoa and she plays a major recurring role in the global hit Netflix series GINNY AND GEORGIA which has its season 3 premier summer of 2025.

    She can be seen as a lead in the hit Hulu mini-series UTOPIA FALLS and recurred on NBC series NURSES. Humberly played the fan favorite role of “Vanessa” on the CW series IN THE DARK now available on Netflix. Her previous credits include ORPHAN BLACK, SAVING HOPE, WORKIN’ MOMS and THE DETAIL.

    Humberly is a graduate of the prestigious CFC Conservatory program in Toronto and the National Theatre School in Montreal, she is Venezuelan and fluent in Spanish.

  • Devery Jacobs is an award-winning actress, writer, director, producer, and one of Hollywood’s most exciting rising stars. As a socially conscious voice from Kahnawà:ke Mohawk Territory, she uses her platform to advocate for Indigenous and LGBTQ2S+ rights. She is best known for starring as one of the leads in the groundbreaking, Emmy®-nominated comedy series RESERVATION DOGS, where she also wrote and directed. For her performance as “Elora Danan” in the FX/Hulu series, Jacobs earned back-to-back 2023 and 2024 Critics’ Choice Award nominations for “Best Actress in a Comedy Series” and a Gotham Award nomination for “Outstanding Performance in a New Series.” 

    Recently, Jacobs wrapped production on the highly anticipated holiday comedy film OH. WHAT. FUN. for Amazon MGM. Her producorial feature film debut, BACKSPOT, which is also executive produced by Elliot Page and directed by D.W. Waterson, premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and at SXSW. The film, which achieved “Certified Fresh” status on Rotten Tomatoes, had its theatrical release on May 31, 2024 in the U.S. and Canada and is presently available on VOD. Notably, Jacobs starred in the Marvel series ECHO, which launched on Disney+ in January 2024 to rave reviews. She also voiced the character “Kahhori” in Marvel’s WHAT IF…? series, the studio’s first Indigenous-Mohawk superhero. Throughout the entirety of her episode, Jacobs exclusively spoke in the Mohawk language. 

    Jacobs has amassed a significant body of work in several film and television productions with a wide reach in genres including the Netflix original horror drama series THE ORDER, the Amazon/Starz fantasy drama series AMERICAN GODS, and Blumhouse Productions’ film THE LIE. Her first breakout role came when she was cast as the lead role in the award-winning feature film, RHYMES FOR YOUNG GHOULS, for which she was nominated for “Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role” at the 2014 Canadian Screen Awards.

2024 RISING STAR AWARD RECIPIENTS

A casual In Conversation Series discussion featuring the inaugural recipients of our rising star award, featuring actors Sara Waisglass (Ginny and Georgia, Suze) and Avan Jogia (Victorious, Zombieland: Double Tap), their careers as actors and body of work. The talk will touch on how to pursue a career in the industry and work on inspiring young creatives to follow their passions within the film industry.
