Shant Joshi is an award-winning producer and president of Fae Pictures, based in New York and Toronto, on a mission to decolonize Hollywood. His credits include award winners at Sundance, Red Sea, Iris Prize, Durban, the GLAAD Media Awards, and the Canadian Screen Awards, premieres at Cannes, TIFF, Canneseries, Aspen, Palm Springs, Hot Docs, Black Star, and BFI London, and competitors for the Academy Awards. Shant currently sits on the Canadian Media Producers Association (CMPA) Regulatory Committee and was previously Co-Chair of the BIPOC TV & Film Board and co-founder of the Future of Film Showcase.
Cornelia Principe is a Don Haig Award winning independent producer whose documentary films have collectively screened at well over 100 national and international film festivals, been broadcast all over the world, and garnered numerous awards and distinctions, including: an Academy Award® Nomination for Best Feature Documentary; Emmy Nomination for Outstanding Coverage of a Current News Story; Peabody nomination for Documentary; Best Documentary Feature, Jury Award Winner, Tribeca Film Festival; Best Canadian Documentary, Hot Docs; Audience Choice Award, Hot Docs; TIFF’s Canada’s Top Ten; Ted Rogers Best Feature Documentary, Canadian Screen Awards; Sundance Film Forward Program.
Zarrar Kahn is a Canadian-Pakistani writer, director and producer whose debut film In Flames was Pakistan's entry for the 2024 Academy Awards, and the Canadian Screen Award winner of the John Dunning Best Debut Feature Award. The film premiered at the 76th Cannes Film Festival as part of the Director’s Fortnight, where it was nominated for the Camera d’Or. A trailblazing festival run followed, including stops at TIFF, Busan and Sitges. Kahn was awarded the International Newcomer Award at Mannheim-Heidelberg Film Festival, as well as 'Best Picture' at Red Sea Film Festival. He is an alumnus of the TIFF Talent Lab, Locarno Filmmakers Academy, Open Doors Locarno, Asian Film Academy and Director’s Lab program at the Canadian Film Centre. He is represented by UTA. Born in Karachi, and currently based out of Toronto, Kahn is committed to telling stories that amplify historically marginalized communities.
Alireza Khatami is an award-winning writer, director, and producer based in Canada. Born into the indigenous Khamse tribe in southeast Iran, Alireza draws from the rich oral storytelling traditions of his heritage, crafting a unique style blending magic realism with sharp social commentary. Known for his bold cinematic choices defying convention, his films unravel the invisible architecture of power, tracing societal systems and psychological forces that shape human behavior and identity.
Alireza began as an assistant director alongside esteemed filmmakers, including two-time Oscar winner Asghar Farhadi. His debut feature, Oblivion Verses, premiered at the Venice Film Festival in 2017, garnering critical acclaim and winning multiple awards, including the Orizzonti Award for Best Screenplay and the FIPRESCI prize. His second feature, Terrestrial Verses (co-directed with Ali Asgari), premiered in the Un Certain Regard competition at Cannes Film Festival to rave reviews and has been theatrically released in more than 15 countries.
Alireza's boundary-pushing third feature, The Things You Kill, earned him the Best Director Award at the World Dramatic Competition of Sundance Film Festival 2025.
